Throwbacks
Brittonie Fletcher (MFA) is a British-American artist, educator and curator based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her work of the past decade has focused on connection to place, belonging and community often tying in politics and personal.
These pinhole works are "throwbacks" to pinhole days past - the very first pinhole, missed places, missed people.
The colour one was the first pinhole I made with a box I made in wood class to fit a 4x5 film holder. This test shot was about 5 min in my sculpture studio at MassArt.
The black and white one is I think the first pinhole I ever did - type 56 pinhole on view camera, July 2006, Mission Hill, Boston
Grid pinhole of the LoFi crowd on pinhole day 2018 - outside Stills, Edinburgh, where I teach.
